ELINE DINING CHAIR

ELINE DINING CHAIR

The Eline Dining Chair represents a deliberate shift from building-scale design to the intimate scale of furniture, translating the studio's architectural ethos into a singular, crafted object. Rooted in the practice's philosophy of developing projects 'from the big idea down to the smallest detail' the dining chair embodies a continuity between architecture, interiors and product design.

Maximum seating comfort combined with clean lines, balanced materials and elements of the classic kitchen knife characterize the design of this dining chair originally conceived for Austria's two-Michelin-starred Alpine Cuisine Geniesserrestaurant led by chef Andreas Döllerer. The chair legs and armrests form a visible unit made of wood while the substructure of the seat and backrest has been deliberately concealed to emphasize the character of a lounge chair.

The backrest is held in place by a strap on the back that merges into the wooden structure. The connection is made with metal rivets, similar to those used on a classic kitchen knife. These are visible on both the inside and outside of the chair, making them a distinctive design element.
