Architect and Founder, Mid-Century Modernism Enthusiast
Michael founded Architect and Friends in 2007 and has extensive experience in residential, commercial and hospitality projects in Italy and abroad. His work is rooted in his sensibility for locations, spaces, proportions, quality of materials and detailed workmanship.
In recent years, Michael's work is most influenced by Mid-Century Modern architecture and interiors that he studies and visits all over the world with it's unique form, function and simplicity that builds the base from which his projects are born.
One of the most formative memories was the private invitation by legendary architectural photographer Julius Shulman to his home in the Hollywood Hills.
Michael received his Master's degree in architecture (DI/MSc) from Vienna's Technical University in 2001 and is a licensed architect.
Johanna merged her business with Michael in 2009 to strengthen and enhance the seamless relationship between architecture, interiors as well as the surrounding landscape from the first sketch to completion of each project.
Her passion is to source new crafting techniques and products like vintage finds, small new label products and handpicked classics from around the world to create personal and vibrant spaces.
Johanna received her Interior Design Diploma from KLC London in 1998.
